When You Fall Off the Self-Care Wagon (and Don’t Feel Like Climbing Back On)
Can I tell you something?
I almost forgot to write this blog post.
And that’s… kind of perfect.
Because this week’s blog is about what happens when you fall off the self-care wagon.
You know the feeling—one day you miss a stretch. Then you skip the walk. Then the laundry piles up, the meals get more snacky, and suddenly everything that once felt “good” starts to feel hard. And self-care becomes another thing you’re not doing “right.”
But here’s the truth: Falling off the wagon is part of the ride.
We’re not machines. We’re people.
We get tired.
We get sick.
We get overwhelmed.
We move house.
We grieve.
We cope the best we can.
And when life starts to pile up, the last thing we need is a voice in our head yelling, “You’re failing at self-care.”
What if getting off track... is part of the practice?
What if the most self-caring thing you can do in that moment is not to force yourself back into the routine, but to gently ask: “What would support me right now?”
Sometimes the answer is to start again.
Sometimes it’s to rest.
Sometimes it’s just to be kind.
A gentle way to get back on track
If you’ve been feeling off track, out of routine, or like your body is asking for a reset—you're not alone.
That’s exactly why I created my classes the way I did:
- To be flexible and forgiving
- To meet you where you are
- To offer consistency without pressure
You don’t need to be “back on track” to come to class. You don’t need a perfect routine, perfect outfit, or perfect energy.
You just need to show up. As you are.
Tired, scattered, achy, bloated, hopeful, whatever.
We move, we breathe, and somehow—it gets a little easier.
If you’ve fallen off the self-care wagon, you’re in the right place. Climb back on (or just walk alongside it for now). You’re always welcome here.
