Berry Vital Smoothie

As someone who doesn’t love banana in a smoothie, I’m always looking for ways to get the convenience, nourishment and texture of a banana-based smoothie… without the banana. I think I’ve found it!

And this smoothie is packed full of nourishing ingredients that are perfect for peri & post menopausal women.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen berries (for antioxidants, fibre and flavour! Antioxidants help reduce the risk of many diseases and fibre helps to regulate cholesterol and keep digestion working well. )

  • 200 - 250ml of almond milk (or milk of choice)

  • 1/2 cup of greek yoghurt (for calcium to protect bones and probiotics for gut health.)

  • 100g silken tofu (soy products are proven to help reduce the risk of osteoporosis and help to maintain a healthy weight after menopause. I know it might sound a bit yucky to some, but this will give the smoothie a wonderful texture.)

  • 1-2 teaspoons of honey, rice malt syrup or maple syrup (optional to taste)

Put all ingredients in a blender and pulse until blended. Drink while it’s cold.
