Berry Vital Smoothie
As someone who doesn’t love banana in a smoothie, I’m always looking for ways to get the convenience, nourishment and texture of a banana-based smoothie… without the banana. I think I’ve found it!
And this smoothie is packed full of nourishing ingredients that are perfect for peri & post menopausal women.
Ingredients
1 cup frozen berries (for antioxidants, fibre and flavour! Antioxidants help reduce the risk of many diseases and fibre helps to regulate cholesterol and keep digestion working well. )
200 - 250ml of almond milk (or milk of choice)
1/2 cup of greek yoghurt (for calcium to protect bones and probiotics for gut health.)
100g silken tofu (soy products are proven to help reduce the risk of osteoporosis and help to maintain a healthy weight after menopause. I know it might sound a bit yucky to some, but this will give the smoothie a wonderful texture.)
1-2 teaspoons of honey, rice malt syrup or maple syrup (optional to taste)
Put all ingredients in a blender and pulse until blended. Drink while it’s cold.
