Celebrating 5 years of Bali yoga retreats

This week while I’ve been in Bali I’ve seen lots of “memories” pop up on Facebook to remind me of my 2019 yoga retreat. It’s hard to believe, but, yes, it has been 5 years since I hosted my first yoga retreat in Bali. Where does the time go?

I’ve been reminiscing with one of my guests that was there in 2019 about that first retreat. I was honestly like a deer in the headlights, but it worked out better than I could have ever expected.

Something that surprises people about me is that I am someone that almost completely flies by the seat of my pants. A lot of the time I’m winging it. (I think my experience with chronic illness has instilled that in me because I could never plan too far ahead).

The first Bali yoga retreat was born because I knew someone who owned these villas, and I wanted to get out of Albany during the winter.

That was pretty much the extent of my plan. I knew we would do yoga & meditation daily and that I would present mini-workshops on Body Love. But that was all I knew. I had never been to this part of Bali, I didn’t know the layout of the villas, and I didn’t know if there would be any other facilities near by. I knew NOTHING!

But that first yoga retreat (and every one since) was magic. Friendships were made, a-has were had, relaxation was indulged.

And best of all the location is perfect. We are out of the hustle & bustle of Kuta or Seminyak. We are down an alley so we can’t hear the noise of the scooters. We are 3 minutes walk from a fantastic coffee shop and spa. We have two villas with lots of space for yoga & workshops and we have two pools! Everyone has lots of space. The rooms are huge and they all have their own ensuite including a huge shower and bath. It’s truly paradise.

I tell you this partly because you might be interested in coming to one of these retreats in the future… AND because you might also have a half-formed dream or plan. This is your little sign to GO FOR IT! Don’t do anything financially irresponsible, but otherwise, follow your dreams. Take it from me, it feels good.

If you’re interested in being the first to know the dates of the 2025 retreats (and the first to have a chance to book), click here to put your name on the waiting list. It closes on Monday 12th August, and I think all the spots will be taken by people on the waiting list.
