10 workout ideas for the different phases of the moon.
I am on a mission to help as many women as I can to get back into a regular exercise routine. I truly believe that a big reason that so many women don’t exercise is because it’s so masculine. “No Pain, No Gain”, “push through for results”, “strong is the new sexy”.
Why can’t we make exercise more feminine? Why can’t we move just because it feels good? Well, of course, we can!
One way to do this is to workout in line with the phases of the moon. The energy of the moon is so feminine, and it waxes and wanes throughout the month. When we live in tune with the phases of the moon, we can use that energy to guide our workouts so that we always feel motivated to look after our bodies with love. Here are some ideas on how you can nourish your body with (or without) movement with the different moon phases:
New Moon:
• Meditation or Visualisation
• Restorative yoga
• A nature walk
• REST!
Waxing Moon:
• Cardio like running or boxing
• Group Fitness classes
• Vinyasa yoga
Full Moon:
• Combine strength and cardio
• Kettlebells, weights and/or boxing
• But if you are feeling jittery try meditation and journaling to release any negative feelings
Waning Moon:
• Yoga
• Solo gym workouts (using the weights machines is good here)
