Reconnect with inner peace at the Loving Kindness Retreat in Demark

I have one spot left on my Loving Kindness Retreat in beautiful Denmark. And I’ll be totally honest, if I don’t find someone to take it, I will have to cancel. To make the retreat financially viable I need all of the spots to be filled. So far I have 4 beautiful women booked to come and I’d hate to cancel it because then they’d miss out on a wonderful experience.

Wellbeing team tip of the week - Dr Jen Gunter

Dr Jen Gunter is a OB/GYN and pain medicine physician from Canada. She is my no BS/Evidence based go-to for all things menopause. Her latest newsletter just hit my inbox and its about how to make sure the menopause information you are getting isn’t full of crap. I highly recommend you read it! Click here.

Stress Management tip of the week - pranayama

This technique, which involves inhaling for four seconds, holding the breath for seven seconds, and exhaling for eight seconds, is particularly effective at reducing stress and anxiety by activating the body's parasympathetic nervous system. By promoting relaxation, it helps lower heart rate and blood pressure, contributing to better cardiovascular health. The 4-7-8 method also aids in improving sleep quality, making it easier to fall asleep and reducing insomnia. (Note: If you have any heart issues please check with your doc before starting pranayama practices)

Physical Activity tip of the week - boxing

This week I had a moment at work where I felt quite angry/frustrated. Last week I got teary, this week I got physical. One of my colleagues and I got into little sparing moment. It was fun. It reminded me of why I got into personal training iin the first place. I love boxing! It’s especially good for cardio health, bone density, mental health and dealing with rage. If you are interested in booking a private boxing session, send me an email at emma@emmapolette.com

Gentle Nutrition tip of the week - black beans

A diet high in fibre is important for gut health, cardiovascular health (especially cholesterol) and maintaining weight. Legumes/beans are a great way to get lots of fibre. This week I tried this quick black bean recipe. You can make nachos, tacos or a burrito bowl out of them. Delicious! Here’s the recipe.
