How to make 2025 awesome

Over the past few days, I’ve written down my goals for 2025. Research shows that written goals are much more likely to become a reality, and goals reviewed regularly are even more likely to be achieved.

I never used to like writing down my goals because if I didn’t reach them, I’d feel bad about myself. However, over the past few years, I’ve worked on self-compassion and kindness, which has had a dual benefit in this area of my life. Now, I set goals that are achievable rather than being overly hard on myself. And if I don’t hit them, I can still feel proud of what I’ve achieved rather than being too disappointed.

I’ve set goals in five areas of my life:

  • Health

  • Business

  • Fun/Hobbies

  • Home

  • Friends & Family

For the first time ever, I’ve set quarterly goals. For example, my first health goal of the year is to establish my 11-minute exercise routine as a daily habit. Instead of expecting this to happen in the first week of January, as I might have in the past, I’m giving myself a leisurely three months to play with it and get it right. This approach feels much more aligned with who I am as a person and will hopefully make the goals more sustainable.

My Tips for Making 2025 Awesome:

  1. Choose 3–5 areas of your life to improve
Focus on these areas and set your goals accordingly. Bonus points if your goals align with your core values.

  2. Set quarterly goals
Give yourself plenty of time to overcome obstacles and refine your approach.

  3. Make goals achievable but exciting
Write them down and review them regularly for the best chance of success.

If one of your goals for 2025 is to enjoy more rest and relaxation, you might like to join one of my one-day retreats. The first one is on Sunday, March 23. Click here for more info.
