Thrive through menopause
About Menopause
Menopause is a big, natural milestone in a woman's life, marking the end of her reproductive years. This usually happens between the ages of 45 and 55. It’s mostly recognised after going 12 months without a period. Occasionally women will go through a medical menopause at a different life stage due to illness or surgery.
Leading up to the menopause, there’s perimenopause. This can last anywhere from 2 to 10 years and is filled with its own set of physical and emotional ups and downs. It can be a challenging time as the body adjusts to changing hormone levels. These changes are what cause many of the typical menopause symptoms like hot flushes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and mood swings.
Menopause isn’t just about physical changes. It can also affect your emotions and self-esteem. In many cultures, menopause is surrounded by taboos and negative stereotypes, which can make women feel less confident about themselves. This stigma can add to the emotional burden during this time.
As a menopause coach, I’m here to help you understand these changes and support you through them. It’s important to talk about the emotional and social aspects of menopause and help women feel good about themselves during this new stage of life.
In our community, let’s support each other and break the taboos around menopause.
